About one week before this display/crush, I spotted it online on a schedule for the WWE Monster Trucks.  I noticed the town name, Islip Terrace, and thought to myself "what the - that sounds REALLY familiar!"  So I went online and it turns out it was only a few miles from where I live, just down the main highway.  I thought it would be cool for my dad and I to check it out, and that we did.  We got there and the place was pretty small, but we were told that the driver, Mike Wilbanks of Washington State would do some car crushing.

Here are a couple more shots of the WWE Rock Truck on display:

Soon after it was time to start it up and take flatten down some old junkers.  Because of the small amount of space, Mike wasn't able to get too much air.  Basically, Mike eased up to the cars and popped the front wheels up a bit, landed, and backed off the cars as there was no place to go after them.  I was standing about 20 feet away; even though it wasn't much, the sound of the engine and the cars pounding the pavement when the truck hit were AWESOME sounds.  It's something you won't forget after being that close!

One of the cars getting hung up a bit under the Rock.

Mike Wilbanks popping the front end up over the cars.

After a few times over like that, Mike parked the Rock back on top of the cars and that was it.  It was a small deal, but it satisfied my withdrawal of no shows that had lasted several months.  The next show was only 3 weeks away and it was a biggie - Bloomsburg, PA 2003!
